Protect your skin with the new TECA 1% Barrier Cream by Wishtrend - is it really the knight in shining armour?

I have been really enjoying my collaboration with Wishtrend - I feel respected, and their products have been nothing short of amazing!

Their new TECA 1% Barrier Cream came to me in December - just before I was due to leave to the cold and windy Lithuania. Perfect timing!

It's been about a month of me testing this little gem, so let's talk about it.

For starters, you know me - I gotta talk about the packaging.
Wishtrend, you're doing things so well - product formulations are stellar, and packaging is always minimalistic but absolutely beautiful!

The TECA 1% Barrier Cream comes in this gorgeous 'brushed metal' feel dark teal tube - sure it's squeezy and plastic, but it looks as handsome as a tube possibly could!

Hah, I'm a simple gal - give me something pretty that works, and I'm happy!

But there is a catch - it has to work!

During my communications, I was given the below product description, which I kept as a checklist:

The Teca 1% Barrier Cream creates a protective layer to keep moisture and active ingredients within the skin while strengthening, calming, and improving the skin’s overall health

✔ Contains Centella asiatica to help regenerate the skin

✔ Helps restore damaged and weakened skin barrier

✔ For all skin types

✔ Hydrating& softening without the harsh tugging and pulling

Ingredients

Water, Dipropylene Glycol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dimethicone, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Cyclopentasiloxane, Ethyl Hexanediol, Cyclohexasiloxane, Asiaticoside, Madecassic Acid, Asiatic Acid, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum, Glyceryl Caprylate, Allantoin, Disodium EDTA

Now then, how did it perform against all those promises?

Firstly, the texture - it's very slippery and balm-like, thus it really doesn't tug even on dry skin. I like the texture, however, I would prefer something without dimethicone as it can clog pores.
That being said, you only need a little bit as the slippery, melting texture helps the product spread easily.

Then there's actual efectiveness of the barrier cream - my skin was quite clear during most of my testing, however, the harsh weather of my home country did provide great opportunities to test the resilience of the TECA 1% Barrier Cream. I am happy to report that, even in strong winds and sleet, my skin didn't get dry or flaky around the most sensitive areas (nose especially) when I was using this!

The past few days I had a couple weird pimples pop up - I've been topping them with the barrier cream, and they are calming down. So, even with badly behaved skin, this cream does indeed soothe and protect.

A downside I observed is that it's not moisturising enough - you must use this together with the full skincare routine, including face cream, because it's not very moisturising. I wish it was - I'd rather minimise the amount of products used when the skin isn't well, rather than slather on 11-th layer.

I do like this - for pesky flaky areas, sensitive patches and angry skin, this is a great way to soothe and add a protective layer against the elements. I wish it was more moisturising, so it would reduce the amount of products needed prior to the application, and thus would have a chance to work more directly with the skin.

Overall rating - 8 /10

Cons: could be more moisturising, and dimethicone could prove problematic

Who will like this?
if you have sensitive skin and are looking to add a protective, soothing layer on the most delicate areas - this is for you!
