Green tea is absolutely fantastic for you - when I'm not drinking it, I'm slathering it all over my face!

There are several green tea serums available across K-beauty brands - the infamous Innisfree Green Tea Serum pretty much started it all, and I used it way back then...so I was excited to dip my face into a different take on this green (tea) idea!

Thanks to Q-depot.com I'm able to bring you my report on the Face Shop Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum..let's dive in!

The idea behind pretty much all green tea serums is to provide hydration, soothing and brightening to the skin - The Face Shop Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum offers the same claims - so far, nothing new.

I like the little bottle it comes in - it reminds me a lot of the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea perfume, as it has a very similar leaf design, and colour scheme.
This looks vastly different from the forest-green packaging of the Innisfree Green Tea serum, and I must say that I'm torn to which I prefer better.

Both are pump-bottles, which is absolutely fantastic when it comes to hygene, but whilst the dark forest-green of the Innisfree bottle looks a little more pricey, I find the Face Shop packaging to be 'refreshing' on the eyes.

I've had no malfunctions of the pump, so yay!

The serum itself is slightly milky in colour, and very viscous - there's a mild 'green' scent to it, reminiscent of Japanese green tea, which has a very mild, almost floral, scent. This smells less harsh than the Innisfree Green Tea serum - where the scent really smacks your nostrils upon application.

The runny, viscous texture of the Face Shop Green Tea Waterfull Serum is much lighter & thinner than its Innisfree counterpart, and I found it to be noticeably better at absorbing quickly into the skin.

The biggest difference, however, lies within the effects - with Innisfree Green Tea serum I did not notice anything more than a mild boost of hydration, and on top of that disappointment, it also stung my skin every time I applied it.

The Face Shop Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum does not sting - which is a major improvement, and my skin is noticeably softer and brighter when using this.
The serum does not offer a major hydration boost - however, unlike with the Innisfree serum, it doesn't at all disappoint me because it does have a really lovely impact on the quality of my skin.

If you've tried the Innisfree Green Tea serum and found it to be a let-down - I highly recommend you try the Face Shop Baby Leaf Green Tea Waterfull Serum, because I'm quite sure you'll find it packing much more of a punch! Not to mention it's more affordable, and more effective, making it a much better deal!

Overall rating - 9/10

Cons: not very hydrating
