Looking for an affordable, refreshing makeup remover that will take care of your skin? Etude House Monster Micellar Cleansing Water might be the answer...

Okay so, let me start with something obvious - monsters & Etude House aren't two things you'd put together. I was really surprised to see this branding, but I have to say it's kind of refreshing from all the pinks & princesses!

Here's what Etude says about this cleanser:

The Cleansing Water turns a scary monster in smokey makeup into the cutest monster ever!

Now, I wouldn't say that smokey makeup makes you look like a monsters, but I get it. It's kind of funny too, so I'm glad to have what to battle my 'monster makeup' with.

I can't really comment on the packaging - we only got deluxe samples, and while they do feature the general colourway/design, they don't have the pump that the regular size comes with.

I tested the Monster Micellar Water on a full-face makeup after a very long day.
Now, you might look and say that you don't see that much difference, and here I say thanks - my skin seems to be stable and great these days, but you can definitely see the more pronounced redness, and of course the missing eye & lip makeup.

In the photo above you can see a little arrow - that much I needed for the full face (two cotton pads).

I was very pleasantly surprised to see how this micellar water tackled my makeup - I followed the instructions of holding the soaked pad on the eye for 10 seconds before starting to wipe, and it took care of my eyeliner, eyeshadow, mascara, powder and cushion in a matter of seconds! Furthermore, it completely removed a favourite tint of mine, which often tends to stay for days.

On top of it all, after cleansing I completely forgot that I didn't put any skincare products on - my face felt supple and not tight or dry at all.
Count me extremely impressed with this one - although I've only used Western micellar water before, it never performed as well as promised, making be doubtful of any cleansing water I come across.
This Monster Micellar Water even has wonderful ingredients (check out CosDNA), which explains why my skin was happy without much else.

The Etude House Monster Micellar Water has restored my faith in this type of cleanser, and I will be ordering the full size - you have the option of choosing between 300ml (9$) and 700ml (16$), and based on how much I needed for just one cleanse, I will probably go with the monstrous 700ml as it's much more cost-efficient.
What can I say..it's just that great!

You can find this on Etude House website and in-stores.

  1. Great post as always! I'm just curious- what is this miraculous tint that stays for days? I find that for the majority of my lip colours they fade within three hours, not including eating...

    1. Thank you for the flattery ;) I'm talking about the Aritaum Color Lasting Tint (I've reviewed it on my blog last year) - it lasts all day! Even with makeup remover, I still usually wake up with a light tint the next day!
