Missha The Revolution White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm REVIEW [Korean Skincare]

A clean slate is the best way to start a successful K-beauty skincare routine!

I love myself some Missha - and now that I'm collaborating with Jolse I can review a whole lot more! I've been lucky enough for Jolse to enjoy my blog and want to collaborate with me by allowing me to pick some products for reviews - there are no strings attached as all they ask for is a review, so you're still getting my unadulterated opinion!
Simply now I'm able to bring you more news from the K-beauty world without selling my kidneys!

That aside, I'm quite excited to bring you another cleansing balm I enjoy - Missha The Revolution White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm. I picked this out for my first review package as it's a relatively new release from a beloved brand, and a possible contestant for my favourite SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm (Missha's sister brand).

I'm usually very lazy with removing makeup after a long day at work, so I'm always on the lookout for a product that will take things off quickly, efficiently and won't irritate my skin.
Missha's White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm promises to take the day off swiftly while nourishing the skin. I like the sound of that!

To begin with, I am enjoying the packaging - it's a simple white tub with a mirrored lid, freshness seal and a spatula. Not to mention this has 105ml of product, so it's a very good deal! I like how hygienic this is, but by now most brands have adopted similar packaging, so I shouldn't be surprised. Alas, better safe than sorry!

Opening the freshness seal you'll be greeted by a bright yellow balm and a perfume-y slap in the face.
The balm is a nice texture - soft, melts easily, doesn't drag on the skin. But the perfume bugs me.

I'm usually not one to complain about scented products - I like the therapeutic aspect of having a nicely scented skincare product. This balm, however, feels like sticking your head into an oriental perfume bottle. Not cool!

Yes, it smells nice, musky and warm, but even a third of the scent would be more than enough..The only good thing is that I don't feel any irritation on my skin or eyes while using this, so the perfume must be a combination of oils or something...

The balm melts really easily, you just have to warm up between your palms and it will glide onto the skin like butter. I usually use a full scoop for my entire face, sometimes a little bit more if I'm wearing heavier makeup.

As usual, you use the Missha White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm on dry skin - like a cleansing oil - massaging into the makeup and allowing it to dissolve. I would this to be extremely effective with most makeup, but waterproof mascaras will need a little more time to completely melt away.

After massaging for a couple minutes, I suggest to wet your hands and continue massaging the face - that way you're emulsifying the balm without washing it off too quickly. When people complain about their cleansing oils or balms being not very effective, it's likely due to them not emulsifying the product enough! I wet my hands at least 2-3 times before actually washing everything off.

After cleansing, all makeup will be gone - and your skin will feel soft and smooth, and will actually look much brighter!
I was impressed at how much brighter my skin looked after using this cleansing balm - not only did it look and feel clean, the skin tone was evened out and I had a gorgeous 'babyface' glow going on! Love it!

Overall, Missha's The Revolution White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm does a great job at both removing the makeup and brightening the skin - it's definitely a contender for the spot of my all-time favourite cleanser! If only that punch of perfume would go away, I'd declare it a love here and now!

I would highly recommend this to people who are looking for a brightening product, but who do not mind scented products - don't say I didn't warn you!

Missha has, once again, impressed me - the White Cure Oil Cleansing Balm is a great little product for lazy people (like yours truly) who want both a good makeup remover and skincare benefits. I've been using this for almost 2 weeks non stop - my SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm has taken a back seat to this one!

Definitely suggest you check this one out, but be aware of the strong scent, especially if you're sensitive to it!

Overall rating - 9/10

Cons - Strong scent that can be too much for some people to handle!

Who will like this? - Anyone looking for a good makeup remover, and to brighten their skin.
