Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack REVIEW [Korean Skincare]

Few skincare items smell as wonderfully as the Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack - and performs just as well.

Sleeping packs, or masks, are absolutely essential in a Korean skincare routine - they help to lock in all the goodness you've put into your skin, and add an extra boost. Every brand, from roadshop to high-end, has at least one kind of sleeping mask (usually more).
The gist of a sleeping pack is simple - it's like an intensive night cream that you apply after all other skincare steps, and then sleep on it. It works as a treatment as well as a barrier to help your skin retain moisture.

If you read my Korean Skincare Beginner's Guide (click for the link) you'll remember that I included this particular sleeping pack as a suggestion for 'special care' - I honest think that it should be part of your routine, no matter what your goal is!

I'm not a big drinker - but if I do, red or rose wine is usually my first choice. So, I've been loving all kinds of wine-themed products from Korea (including the incredibly packaged Wine Lip Tint by Chateau Labiotte, click for review). However, it's not a recent obsession - the Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack is a continuous repurchase for the past...6 years almost!

I found it first while browsing on eBay for Kbeauty items - back then it was pretty much the only way to get them! Ahh the waiting...I picked it up because it was wine themed, and promised to not only smell amazing, but also nourish and soothe the skin!

This is my 3rd repurchase of this mask - it usually takes me anywhere from 1 to 2 years to finish the whole tub, because I have 5 other sleeping packs (wow). But I've repurchased it every time I ran out, even though I had others - nothing comes close so far.

The packaging is very simple and beautiful - as usual with Innisfree. It resembles a very fat wine bottle XD and is made out of purple plastic - not fragile, so there's no risk if it slips out of your hands in the bathroom!
I move it around, from the bathroom cabinet to my vanity, to keep in my sight - it's beautiful enough to justify the visibility!

The mask doesn't promise to change your life - it's meant to nourish, brighten and soothe the skin. For that you have Squalane, Wine Extract as well as Innisfree's special Green Complex that consists of various herbal and floral extracts. The ingredients list looks really good, and CosDNA happens to agree with me there.

Did I mention the scent? It's absolutely divine! Fresh grapes mixed with sweet wine, and just a touch of florals - this mask will be therapeutic not just for your skin, but for your nose as well!

It's light lilac/pink in colour - reminiscent of a wine stain on a white fabric - but doesn't leave any traces on your skin or pillows, so don't worry about the colour! From what I can tell, it's naturally occurring from the extracts.

I adore the texture of this - it's one of those 'memory' masks where it smooths itself out after a while! Which only hints at what it will do to your skin as well.
The mask itself is slightly slippery and very creamy - it spreads wonderfully and sinks in quickly without leaving much trace.
I usually use about half a teaspoon of the mask for my entire face, or if I feel like I need to I add another layer - there have never been any residue issues!

See? It's smooth now! I took this photo about 30 minutes after the above photo.
I use a sleeping mask at least 5 times a week - and 1 or 2 of those is usually this Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack!
The effects next morning are really obvious - the skin feels smoother, and looks calm and glowing. The skin tone is more even, and it feels very supple and just happy. I honestly haven't come across another sleeping pack that gives me that positive of a result!

Kbeauty TIP: Don't forget that you can use a sleeping pack as day cream as well - if you feel like your skin needs more intense nourishing, then just finish off your morning skincare routine with a sleeping pack instead of a cream!

All in all, the Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack will be a fabulous addition to your skincare routine - if just for the scent alone!
For me this is an absolute Holy Grail product, that will find its way back into my life as long as it's in production *throws salt over the left shoulder and knocks on wood* - don't you dare discontinue it, Innisfree!

Have you tried this mask, or any other wine-themed sleeping masks? I'd love to hear your experience - comment bellow!

  1. It says a lot if you've repurchased this several times! I'm going to add this to must buy and try list of beauty products.

    1. I was surprised myself when I dug out my receipts for this (that's when I decided it was just the right time to write it up!)
This is one of very few products I repurchase without fail, even while having other options - I'm a little dreading the day Innisfree decides to (inevitably) go and either reformulate, or discontinue, this.... *fingers, toes and everything else crossed that they don't*
