If you love Korean makeup, you'll know how stubborn it can be! No fear - SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm will take care of that...

I have discovered SwissPure a while ago - pretty much around the time they started out. I tried their cleansing cream and fell in love. However, as all good love stories go - my heart was broken when SwissPure discontinued the cleansing cream...I thought my life would never be the same again...then one day I decided to try the SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm, hoping that it would soothe my woes...and did it?

Yes! I was pleasantly surprised how by well the Clear Cleansing Balm performs with stubborn makeup (then again, it is Korean, so it shouldn't be a surprise it's formulated to remove all the Korean makeup).
It's not the same as my beloved cleansing cream, but, dare a say, a tad better? It has a much more powerful cleansing power - where the cleansing cream would take care of eyeshadow and BB cream, this also wipes away waterproof eyeliners, mascaras and long-lasting lip colors.

Let's look at the little tub of magic:

You get 80 grams of product (which is a whole lot, because you only need one little scoop at a time). It comes in a simple translucent tub, with a handy plastic cover on which rests the spatula.
The spatula is absolutely essential as the balm itself initially has a harder, waxy consistency.

The balm looks a little yellowish in the tub, but it is completely clear.
You want to scoop out no more than one full scoop at a time and warm it between your palms. The balm will melt into a thicker gel/oil that you then massage into your skin.
It's not runny at all, just very slippery and pleasant to massage with - similar to the consistency of coconut oil, just thicker.
It has a very mild herbal scent that's just barely detectable and mostly smells 'clean'.

After massaging for 2-5 minutes, depending on your preference and the amount of makeup, take a soft muslin or terry cloth, soak it in lukewarm water and gently wipe off the balm. This will help exfoliate your skin and get rid of the last of makeup residue.
This step is optional - you can just wash it off with warm water, but I find that using a soft cloth helps the SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm really remove every bit of stubborn makeup.

I can't list the ingredients, because I simply could not find them in English, but SwissPure is a natural brand that bases its formula on ingredients from the Swiss Alps (like spring water, Edelweiss extract) and is 7-free (free from methyl paraben, sulfate, artificial colors, mineral oil, talc, benzophenone-5, triethanolamine).
My skin, as sensitive as it is, really enjoyed this Clear Cleansing Balm!

I tested it with a variety of long-lasting products and it had no problems removing them all.
In the picture above you see Missha View 270 All in Curling Waterproof mascara, Etude House Bling Me Prism water resistant liquid eyeshadow, The Face Shop Ink Graffi waterproof eyeliner and Aritaum Color Lasting Tint long-lasting lip tint.
As you can see, SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm dissolved and wiped off all of them!
I even tried this with the single most stubborn makeup product - Clio Lipnicure liquid lipstick - and it took it off like nobody's business.

SwissPure has updated their balm - now it's called The Mild Cleansing Balm, but from what I saw it's only the packaging that has been updated and now includes 90g of product (don't quote me on this, but I think the balm itself remains the same). I have only started using my Clear Cleansing Balm, so I won't be digging into the new version any time soon, however - you should!
This is a wonderful makeup remover that's a whole lot cheaper than most cleansing balms (like the highly sought-after Banila Co. Clean it Zero! cleansing balm), but is of amazing quality!

Right now I can only find it to purchase here on Ebay - for approximately 12$ (which is only slightly higher than the 12,000KRW retail price). I am not affiliated with the seller, however!

If you want to get your hands on SwissPure products - send me an email and we'll sort it out!

Perhaps you have tried SwissPure Clear Cleansing Balm, or the new The Mild version? I'd love to hear your thoughts on it! Comment bellow, let's trade tips ^_~
