Well hello there! I'm glad to welcome you to the my little bespectacled corner of the world. If you are here, you are probably slightly interested in what the balloons is going on here!
I'm Specs, also known as Cat, and I will be the one guiding your way through my small adventures in Korea. Let me start at the very beginning...

Right after I got into my university (which was in 2011) and started wiggling my way through the student life, we were thrown into a puddle known as "Exchange Studies Fair", and were told that if any of us want to go on exchange outside of EU, we should apply, like, now! I am not joking around here, from the exchange studies' fair to the deadline of the application period we had a bit over 2 weeks.

I knew, quite early on in my life, that Asia is the place to go for me, having studied Japanese for a few years previously I decided that I must continue exploring that part of the world. So there I went, running from place to place and collecting all necessary documents and who knows how, but I made it!

After the deadline came a very nerve-wrecking month of constant post-box checks, pondering on whether I'm qualified enough to even apply and so on..but all that was ended by a loud squeak one morning, when I found the letter of acceptance to the program on my doorstep. It would be an understatement to say that I was happy!

However, I still was only half way to my university in Korea - it took a while to deal with admissions to the actual university. But after a few months and a few migraines, I got my paperwork with that pretty red stamp, saying that I'm now officially a Korea University student!

....and here I am, counting my last days before I lift off and begin the actual Korean adventure :)
For now I have a couple pre-travel posts planned, such as what-to-take and what-to-know before going as well as some general tips I've gathered.

Later on there will be lots of Korean goodness here...so stay tuned!!

Ciao for now!

         XoXo,
                   Specs
